I love my breakpoint ultralight weight gi. www.breakpointfc.com

I think it was around $100, it came with a little bag for my wallet and stuff, and I got an A2 top and A3 pants. That works for me since I guess my torso is a bit smaller. I am 5'8" 170lbs.

I have about four gis and the qualtiy of this gi is the best. Other gis have torn, or feel like the sleeves stretch when being pulled on or are too heavy and unbreathable.

What is your favorite gi and why?

Thanks

Joey P

My favorite Gi combo right now is my A3 Atama Gold-weave Kimono ($180 when I bought it in spring of 2010) / Shoyoroll A3S pants ($50.00 on Ebay) that i wear predominantly when training. I really like the A3 Atama Kimono as it shrunk to fit "right", but the collar has become pretty frayed and will soon be coming apart. I retired the Atama pants about 9 months ago and switched to the SYR A3S replacement pants to have a well fitted Gi/pants combo.

A close 2nd would be my A3S Shoyoroll Yank ($170.00) this is because it is the only "complete" Gi I currently have that fits correctly (pants and Kimono). It is second because the pants are awfully light, and although they have proven durable I keep dreading that i will hear "rrrriiippp" at some point during a hard roll.

I have another A3S Shoyoroll ComPadre ($170.00) on order- this should have heavier twill pants, and also an A3S Prana O.G. ($140.00) These 2 Gi's plus the Yank will likely become my regular rotation. Once I have them, I will likely "retire" my trusty Atama to the wall of fame in my Den.

Mine is the new Spaceape gold weave by gorilla fight gear.
Low cost gi, great workmanship on the material and a good cut.
Light weight, and very comfy to be in. also dries in half the time compared to my other gi's.
only $99.00 USD

Really enjoy the Raptor gi by Black Eagle. The Predator is nice too, and right now both are in my rotation of gi's . I may possibly buy another Predator if they can get the white ones in stock.

I was thinking of selling my Bad Boy lightweight to get another Predator gi also by Black Eagle, but am not sure what to sell it for??

Bought it back in November right before i tore my meniscus and have worn it maybe 4 times.
Was thinking of throwing it up on Craigslist so i wouldn't have to deal with shipping. Can't sell it at my school due to possibly infringing on the schools sales of their gi's.

I don't understand why someone would spend $300 on a gi.

I love my Shoyoroll Yank. Light weight, cut right for my body type and it looks sharp as hell.

My favorite Gi is a cheap one!!! Seriously, I just bought a great new Gi for under $60. It's plain, but it does the trick and I love it!!

I have an A1 Lucky "Rude Boy" (black with red, green, yellow accents) bamboo gi, brand new, if you want to buy it. FYI, the jacket and sleeves are super long and don't shrink.

For hot weather training nothing beats my Kauai Kimonos ripstop gis.

For fun, I love my tiedyed gi from HappyKimonos.com.

My all around favorites are my embroidered gis from Black Eagle-- the single weight and the Predator are amazing!

I own several shoyoroll gis, which I love for one simple reason -- A3S size fits me perfectly. Otherwise, it's just a gi, that's not that special.

I own several cheap gis and an atama, and I really hardly see a difference between any of them. A gi is a gi. However, the cut of your gi does effect performance in BJJ.

If another company were to start producing A3S gis, I'd buy from them.

My favorite thus far would be either the 93 Brand Tau or the Flow Pro-Series 3.  Both are super durable and take a lot of wear and tear.  The Tau is so soft and comfortable it's ridiculous and I want to wear it like a robe sometimes.  The Flow P.S. 3 is super light and airy.  You could wear both without a rash guard and still be very comfortable.  They both run about 130, 140 bucks.  They are well-worth the price.
