OMG he was WAY out of it - I wonder if he watched that once he sobered up and said Rickson Gracie I need to lay off an hour or two before I have to get in front of the cameras. |

I saw this on you tube and a bunch of dudes where trying to say he was jet lagged and all that. I've been jet lagged before. Try chasing the Sun around the world flying to a deployed location.
I never felt or acted like that. _________________ Gracie Jiu Jitsu Purple belt

Damn, boys. This is old, OLD news.
He was doped up on medications because he was down with the flu, but his agent still made him do the interview and his trainers were pissed!! |

Before you post s*** on people.
Make sure it's true.
Chuck was suffering from an illness and was on meds that made him drowsy, as seen. Being drunk for those of us old enough to drink is very different from how he acted.
Not that I like Chuck but have some respect before you bash people with bad information. _________________ Rowan J. Draper

I'm 19, and where I live, you can drink legaly at 18. And yes, when you drink lots of beer, you do get sleepy after a few bottles. It really depends what you are drinking, but yes, he was acting like he was drunk.
Secondly, the place I got the video from, the title said he was drunk. Wether it's true or not, I don't really care. I just posted it for amusement. I had one source telling me he was drunk, and I won't do an investigation of everything I post here. |

DUDE, you cant tell me he doesnt look drunk.
I dont doubt that some dip s*** made him go on tv like that...and it explains why the reporter was asking him if he was ok and telling him to take care of himself....BUT if he was drunk i could see the reporter saying the same stuff. ANYWAY, I dont like the dude, so i jumped to the conclusion that he was wasted. I dont think he is a very good ambasador to the sport. I know his "style" is part of the sport, but I think he is talentless. He has no real style. I'd much rather see someone more well rounded fight. I think the greatest fighter in the sport right now (well rounded, good ambasador to the sport, and a champion fighter) is Matt Serra. Just my humble opinion (I swear it has nothing to do with my roots in NY and my new found LOVE for BJJ) . |

If Chuck was on meds for the flu, or whatever, it should have been the first thing out of this mouth.
Chuck: "I have to apologize in advance, im getting over the flu and am heavily medicated, please excuse my sluggishness" _________________ New to this site? Please review the rules

That's not true. He has an excellent anti-grappler style. He has proven it.
As for the video, he looked pretty drunk. The only thing that annoys me is how people WANT to hate him. If Mat Serra did this, or a fighter they like, they wouldn't be insulting him.
I'm not saying he's perfect (far, far from it). I do, however, like him as a fighter. You don't have to like him, just don't jump on every reason you can to spew some more hate towards him. |

Row was just trying to attack me on the point of that I am not 21, and can't possibly know what it is like to be drunk. I am 19, and in my country, it's legal to drink at my age. I think the bigger problem is that Row has probably never been drunk (which is a good thing), and he is basing his knowledge of what it's like to be drunk not from personal experience, but more from what he sees on hollywood (drunk guys beating others up, or falling around). |

Matt "He's a f***ing bully, he's a f***ing hick, he's a cowboy, he's a f***ing d*** and I don't like him" Serra is a good ambassador for MMA? He's certainly a talented, honest, outspoken fighter who will back up everything he says prior to a fight. I would hardly say he's a good ambassador for MMA outside of the Octagon. When I think ambassdor of MMA, I think of Randy Couture, Minotauro, BJ Penn, Nate Quarry, Joe Rogan: eloquent people who under pressure won't curse to express themselves.

I don't think Rowan's point of view was solely based on your age or whether or not you've been drunk.
The important point Rowan was making is that Chuck Liddell had taken medication which makes the imbiber drowsy prior to appearing on that show. If he was intoxicated - it wasn't through alcohol as you had (mistakenly) suggested but intoxication through the chemistry of the drugs affecting his body.

Whilst I don't advocate Rowan's personal stab at whether you have been drunk or not, it's not a good idea to assume anything about a person you don't know from adam.
I can't honestly say why you would say the above but it appears to be an attempt to do one of a few things:
1) Passive aggressively verbally prod Rowan for verbally prodding you.
2) Allege that Rowan hasn't been drunk in order to make you look more right.
3) State Rowan hasn't been drunk in an order to garner sympathy because someone who hasn't been intoxicated is criticising something you've said about appearing drunk
I know you two have history but it feels like whenever you post on the same topic, it's as if you home in on each other to say "Look, I'm more right than he is." My advice: Don't comment on each other's posts in a thread. Ignore each other completely. |
