6'3" 220....Probably an A4 then...

As for brand, I think everyone here knows I'm a huge Origin fan:

I recently had a REALLY positive exprience with Fushida. They were extremely helpful (and correct) with sizing, exceptionally good personal service, responsive and prompt shipping and a excellent quality Gi.

I'm very new to this sport, but this was already my fourth Gi purchase (wasn't happy with the fit of others) and these guys were top notch.

But in the end, like shoes, the best Gi is the one that fits you.

I own several Fuji, Manto, Killer Bee, P & S Gi's and recently purchased Live Love Fight Gi for $99.00. Best Gi I've owned. It's become my favorite.

Too thick is kinda relative. Do you mean double weave is too thick? What about gold weave? Some folks only like light competition weight gis.

I recently got an Origin, a Padilla & Sons, and a Vulkan Ultra light. The Origin is my favorite of them for sure. The P&L is a great gi and awesome deal on a gi that should last a very long time. The Vulkan is so comfy it is like wearing pajamas but it is too stretchy to spar in but fine for drill/practice.

Tatami fightwear makes some great gi's at great prices. Picked up an Estilo classic a couple months ago and it has become number one in my rotation. The pants are easily the most comfortable gi pants I have ever worn.
Redstar also makes a great gi and they have got a bunch of different sizing options to choose from.

BJJHQ has a Tatami Estillo 3.0 on sale for $100 today.

If I had $100, I would snap this up in a second.

edit: I realize now you wanted a white gi. For the money, Fuji and HCK gi's can't be beat.
