#1 |
Hey all,
it's very frustrating when you buy a rash guard that gives you a rash... I can't seem to figure out why literally every time I do BJJ I get a rash on my arms, chest, and back. It looks like small red bumps and I can't think of any way to avoid it. This isn't me worried about looking good, it's downright embarrassing. Please let me know your ideas and if you have experienced the same thing. Thanks |

Without more info it’s hard to say what it is. All grappling comes with the risk of skin problems. All I can say is that if it concerns you then it’s something worth having checked out by a medical professional. _________________ "The world breaks everyone and afterward many are strong in the broken places. Make sure your BJJ clothes(rash guard) and gi are washed after every use. Shower immediately after BJJ. If you are still getting rash I'd wonder about your laundry detergent/fabric softener (you may be allergic, my wife is sensitive to these chemicals).
Good luck, |

Few points:
1) Of course, wash all your gear after every training session. I go light on the detergent and add Oxyclean to kill any bacteria, do NOT use any kind of fabric softener if you use your dryer.
2) Try substituting a 100% cotton tshirt for the rash guard and see if there is any change in your skin's reaction to the class. If it gets better, you may be slightly allergic to certain synthetics, which is something I have seen before.
3) If all else fails, go see a dermatologist. |
